Ann Curry
Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has been reporting for more than 45 years focused on people suffering from the aftermath of natural catastrophes and war zones. Curry has reported on wars around the globe, and has reported on conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in Agana) was an American anchor, reporter on television and journalist. Curry was best known for being a correspondent of The Today Show, which was a morning news program that was broadcast by National Broadcasting Co. Curry gained notoriety for her coverage of natural disasters and humanitarian crises which occurred in war-ravaged areas. Curry's father was a sailor in the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. They met during the time her father was stationed in Japan after World War II. Family members were constantly in and out of the country due to the service of her dad in the military. Curry was able to complete her high school studies in Ashland Oregon. In the end, University of Oregon awarded her an undergraduate degree in journalism. Her exposure to different cultures and experiences during her upbringing likely influenced her empathetic approach to communicating about issues of international significance. Ashland was where she eventually completed high school. She started a new career path that could lead to a successful job by becoming a broadcasting intern for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. She was the first female news reporter at the station at the age of 22. Following that, she went into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW, the NBC affiliate station in Portland. In Los Angeles, she became an anchor and reporter for KCBS TV four years after having moved to the city.
